The Six Deck Seed Grader is a calibration machine designed to sort cereals, pulses, oilseeds and nuts (such as chickpeas, beans, lentils and sunflower seeds) that have already undergone preliminary cleaning or do not require cleaning, classifying them solely by size with millimetre precision. Whilst separating the product into exactly six different sizes, it also successfully removes broken grains and, when used prior to colour sorting (Sortex) machines, maximises the line’s overall capacity and precision.

Principle of Operation: Designed entirely with sizing and calibration in mind, the machine does not incorporate any air suction or cleaning functions; it operates on the principle of pure mechanical vibration:

• Eccentric Vibration System: The product from the feed hopper is discharged onto six screening trays arranged one above the other. Linear and balanced vibration waves generated by powerful eccentric bearings ensure that the raw material moves uniformly across the screen surface.
• Gradual Classification and Broken Part Separation: As the product moves across the screen surfaces, it undergoes a gradual separation into undersize and oversize fractions based on the mesh sizes of each layer. Thanks to the synchronised operation of six screening troughs, the raw material is separated into up to six different sizes (calibres), including broken particles, and conveyed to independent discharge chutes.
• Brush-Assisted Pore Cleaning: Integrated mechanical brushes are continuously in motion on the undersides of the screen plates. These brushes immediately push any grains that might become lodged in the screen holes upwards, preventing blockages (clogging); thus, screening efficiency is always maintained at the highest level in continuous production lines.
• Products Processed and Improved: It is safely used for the precise commercial grading of all dry-seeded agricultural products, including soya beans, chickpeas, beans, broad beans, peas, sesame, lentils, wheat, rice, sunflower seeds and cumin, with options for fixed or mobile (portable) chassis.
